Split-Second Unlearning
This Hudson Method (from the Mind Guy, Matt Hudson) works on the understanding that many fears, anxieties, and limiting behaviours were not created through logic. They were learnt instantly, often in a single emotional moment. This creates an 'emotional memory image'. As it was learnt in a split-second, years of effort to undo it is not necessary. It can be unlearnt in a split-second.

What will it help?
You may be running an old reaction that is no longer actually you. It's a habit your nervous system learnt to protect you. When you see, in real time, that the reaction you are having is no longer necessary, your brain can let it go. It's been automatic and possibly running since you were a child. It's now outdated. With no positive thinking to do, no effort for forcing. No will power, no analysis or discipline. And no reliving of the past. Unlearn it in a split-second.
Anxiety and stress
Including panic, health anxiety, and overthinking. Rather than managing stress and anxiety. Your body will show how it happens. There is a pattern of how you do stress or anxiety. This will show up in eye movements, body language and breath. When you see how it happens you can unlearn the reaction and misunderstanding.
An overactive mind and sleep
Split-second unlearning helps your mind recognise that it no longer needs to stay on guard. Your brain my have learned to stay alert long ago, particularly at night - due to worry, fear of the dark, stress or a difficult period. Even though that time may have passed, the habit of vigilance can remain. There's no techniques to learn. You can unlearn the pattern that has kept you alert.
Habits and compulsive behaviours
Procrastination, people pleasing and unwanted patterns are learned responses, not character flaws. They can be unlearned when the mind recognises they are unnecessary.
Relationships: clearing the past
Relationships may end externally but internally the emotional responses can loop. Taking up space in the mind, possibly even years later. This can affect current relationships or make it hard to fully open to new ones.
Split-second unlearning doesn't involving re-living old relationships or analysing them. Instead, it helps the mind recognise that the emotional responses linked to the past are no longer relevant in the present.
When the mind sees that an old relationship is over - not just logically, but emotionally - the lingering attachment naturally dissolves.
Confidence and emotional triggers
If you have performance nerves, low confidence, fear of judgement or emotional triggers - it isn't about the present moment. Shift the past memory image and let your confidence return without having to build it.
Women's health and fertility
Women's challenges from fertility to menopause can be deeply emotional. And it may not be just physical, but the unknown, pressure, worry and self-blame.
With fertility, there may be a emotional response that is subconscious. The body may still be receiving a subtle signal that it isn't safe.
Split-Second Unlearning works by helping the mind recognise when these stress responses are no longer necessary. This is not an approach to treat medical issues. Rather to support the mind and nervous system to return to a calmer, more balanced state - creating conditions in which the body can function with an interference (see Tish's story below)
