Pilates, as taught by Joseph Pilates, is a practice to target the core stabilising muscles. It aims to achieve a strong girdle of strength, allowing for correct body alignment and posture, minimising physical injury.
Pilates is hailed as one of the most beneficial exercise techniques due to the clear benefits and ability to develop strength, and balance for those with varying health and fitness levels. The fantastic outcome is improved posture. With regular practice your muscles become longer and leaner and you feel and look taller. The focus on breathing adds to the sense of relaxation, leaving you feeling revitalised after a good workout.

Most of the classes are mixed level. As a beginner choose Wednesday 9:30am, Wednesday 6pm or Sunday 10am
Monday 7:05pm – an intermediate class for those who want more of a challenge
Wednesday 9:30am – Modified pilates – a more gentle and very safe form of exercise where you can work at your own pace even though you are in a group class. Exercises are aimed at retraining postural muscles to support the spine during everyday activities. The class is a combination of the original 34 pilates exercises, all performed with a strong emphasis on developing stability around the lower back.
This class is particularly beneficial for those with back pain, poor posture, neurological conditions, and sports injuries. The class is led by a physiotherapist.
Wednesday 6:00pm – Suitable for any level this class will leave you feeling supple, strong and energised. Through a series of sequences and exercises that will build in intensity, the aim of this class is to strengthen you deep postural muscles through core stability conditioning to create a sleek and toned body.
